Solar Light

Solar lights are lighting fixtures that use solar energy to power their operation. They are designed to capture sunlight during the day and convert it into electrical energy, which is stored in rechargeable batteries. The stored energy is then used to illuminate the lights at night.

Solar lights typically consist of the following components:

  1. Solar Panel: This is the main component that absorbs sunlight and converts it into electricity. It is usually made of photovoltaic cells that generate a direct current (DC) when exposed to sunlight.

  2. Rechargeable Battery: The solar energy generated by the solar panel is stored in a rechargeable battery. Common battery types used in solar lights include nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) and lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries.

  1. LED Bulb: Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs are commonly used in solar lights due to their energy efficiency and long lifespan. LEDs produce bright light using less energy compared to traditional incandescent bulbs.

  2. Controller: The controller regulates the flow of electricity between the solar panel, battery, and LED bulb. It prevents overcharging of the battery during the day and provides power to the LED at night.

  1. Enclosure and Mounting: Solar lights are housed in weatherproof enclosures to protect the internal components from the elements. They often come with mounting options, such as stakes for ground installation or brackets for wall mounting.
